Yeast beer, what is it?

The yeast of beer, Saccharomyces cerevisiae of its real name (less speaking, certainly), is a small miracle for the human body. Physically, brewer's yeast is a compound of small microscopic fungi destroyed by drying at high temperatures. We agree, said like that, it does not give much envy. And yet! As in a real fairy tale, going beyond appearances, one realizes that the brewer's yeast is stuffed with healthy virtues.

There are two types of yeasts: active yeast and inactive yeast.

  • The so-called active yeast , composed of probiotics and described as "living", was dehydrated at a very low temperature. In addition to its nutritional benefits, active yeast eliminates toxins and protects and regenerates the intestinal flora . However, it is not recommended for immunocompromised persons or under chemotherapy.
  • Heated at high temperature, the inactive yeast is therefore without probiotics. This does not prevent him from retaining his nutritional virtues. Recommended for skin and nails , it is not for people prone to intestinal inflammation.

Be careful though: whatever its form, yeast is not recommended for people with gluten intolerance.

The virtues of brewer's yeast

  • Rich in vitamins and trace elements, beer yeast stimulates and strengthens the immune system and fills the deficiencies responsible for feelings of fatigue. Say goodbye to small seasonal and transient infections.
  • Its vitamin B9 content is also very effective against stomach upset , nausea and vomiting. Ideal for pregnant women. What's more, yeast helps digestion and regenerates the intestinal flora.
  • Always thanks to its vitamin (B in particular) but also to its amino acid content, it helps fight against hair loss and brittle nails.
  • Antioxidant, beer yeast also eliminates toxins. A detox action effective against aging skin and good for the complexion.

Brewer's yeast: dosages and duration of a cure

As you should not abuse good things, it is advisable not to spread the yeast cures too much. Overdose may end up irritating the intestine. The ideal is not to exceed 3 months of cure.

In terms of dosage, beer yeast is consumed at a rate of 2 to 3 teaspoons a day, or 2 to 3 grams per day depending on the form in which you consume it: capsules, tablets or flakes.
