How to make a mochi?

To make a mochi just a few ingredients. We need glutinous rice flour (found in Asian grocery stores), sugar, of ea u and the chosen filling: red bean paste, ice cream ... for us to see!

Then place to practice. Small balls of filling are made and placed in the freezer. The flour is mixed with the powdered sugar and the water is added little by little. Then knead until an elastic paste. To avoid that everything is too sticky, sprinkle the work plan of cornstarch. We put our elastic dough on it and spread it out finely, before preparing as much rectangle as we have balls of filling. We place it in the center of the rectangle and close the dough all around, making sure there is no opening to prevent the stuffing from escaping. Finally, the mochi is immersed in boiling water or it is heated in the microwave for 1 minute to warm it up. The dessert is ready !

We are also a fan of iced mochi, the summer version of this 100% gourmet dessert.
