That's it, you finally fell for a pair of Stan Smith, Converse or immaculate Nike Air Force One. With boyfriend jeans, a pants jacket suit or even a party dress : you want to wear them with absolutely everything.

Except that, several weeks later, your white sneakers are not really anymore. And the rule is strict: out of the question to wear them if they are not like new. So to get rid of the dirt that covers them and restore the whiteness of the first days, here are some tips that work.

  • 1. Waterproofing

Yes, your white sneakers are just as fragile as your suede ankle boots or your favorite shoes . They too are entitled to a waterproofing worthy of the name. First, make sure to correctly identify the material of your shoes in order to choose the right product. The goal? Put a colorless protective veil on their surface, just to be reluctant to put them on when it rains ropes.

  • 2. Clean them every time they are worn

This may be their only drawback, but white sneakers are a hell of a job. As soon as you offer yourself a pair, you commit to cherish them and take care of them on a daily basis. And the more they are cleaned regularly, the less the damage will be many: it is better to sacrifice 5 small minutes to keep them clean each time they are worn, rather than spending a three hours to polish them fiercely when they arrive at a stage (really) critical.

  • 3. Scrub with a sponge and Marseille soap

It's no secret that Marseille soap has many virtues, including being an excellent stain remover for leather. Just a sponge - or a toothbrush - soaked to miraculously remove the tasks that have invaded your sneakers. And if you run out of Marseille soap, know that the mixture warm water bicarbonate a few drops of lemon also works very well.

  • 4. Use baby wipes

If at first the idea seems surprising, test them to wipe off grease and you'll see how effective baby wipes are. And fortunately for our immaculate sneakers, it's the same for dirt marks. So do not hesitate to polish your favorite shoes with one, two or three wipes ... and their original whiteness should not be too long.

  • 5. Do not put them in the machine

Except for materials such as canvas, avoid at all costs to wash your white sneakers to the machine. Except, of course, if you want to end up with softened shoes and a deformed outsole and therefore, almost impossible to wear. And we do not even talk about the risks of discoloration.

  • 6. Clear the marks with an eraser

A black stripe that refuses to go away? It's time to draw an eraser from the kids' kit. Attention: it must never have been used and at all costs be white, so as not to leave traces of color. You will see, it's (almost) magical.

And if despite all your efforts, you are still not satisfied with the result, nothing prevents you from playing a little grunge: nothing like to give a facelift.
