Why are our nails yellowing?

Signs of a failed manicure, the causes of yellowing are to be sought on the side of our daily life. The yellowing of the nails is not a fatality but is explained by bad habits including in our beauty routine. To varnish the nails has become a reflex beauty, one chooses a color heart-stroke and one takes care to keep it a maximum of time and one connects the colors, week after week. Grave error! You have to let your nails breathe. Keeping your varnish longer than a week is a bad reflex. The nails become porous and absorb the pigments of the varnish. That's when they turn yellow. Another explanation for the yellowed nails is the cigarette. Nicotine is also a scourge for our nails.

How to avoid having yellow nails?

To avoid this beauty cata, we take good habits and make sure to have perfect nails!

- We put a protective base . The use of nail polish without having previously applied protective base is one of the reasons that can explain the yellowing of the nails. The colored pigments contained in the dark-colored nail varnish can indeed alter the color of the horny plaque. And even if you wear a base, it may happen that the nails are stained or yellowed if they are very porous and have been covered with dark colors.

- Hydrate . Drying of nails and fingers is linked to yellowing. To put all the chances on his side, one cares for his nails by moisturizing them regularly.

- We're wearing gloves . As soon as you are in contact with chemicals, such as dyes and other aggressive products, protective gloves are put on, otherwise you will suffer aggression which can cause stains and yellowing on the nails and hands ...

How to treat yellowed nails?

Yellow fingernails are not inevitable! It is sometimes believed that this yellowish tint will pass with time. It is long and above all we do not have the certainty that it works.

- Clearly camouflaged. We opt for a varnish that combine coverage and care. Some products can be used directly on the yellowed nails, under a varnish to prevent the tint of the varnish from turning.

- We're polishing . The ideal is to polish your nails two to three times a month. The goal is to remove the layer that has yellowed. If our nails are fragile or soft, we go slowly. It is recommended to use the nail polisher once every 15 days.

- We take care of them. Exfoliants, protective base ... Several products allow to find healthy and rosy nails. And not just in appearance. We invest in one of these products and we find beautiful hands!
