At the request of one of her clients, Aaron Morse, graduate in pharmacology and owner of Kiehl Pharmacy, develops in her back shop a formula dedicated to the lips. He offers to him and to other faithful a small pot containing the precious balm . Success is immediate. The Lip Balm # 1 was born. It takes its name from a second reference to protect against solar radiation: the Lip Balm # 2. If it disappeared quickly because of its opaque texture based on zinc oxide, the version Lip Balm # 1, it defies the years.

Recipe

Nicknamed "balm of the kiss", this ointment nourishes, repairs and gives the lips an infinite sweetness. It contains a cocktail of natural ingredients such as squalane, sweet almond oil, allantoin, aloe vera and vitamin E, which are able to soften dry or damaged mucous membranes, protect them, prevent chapping. Today, the formula is also available in a gourmet version with mango and in another, tinted. It even gave birth in 1991 to a variant for babies and, in 2003, to a Lip Balm enriched with an SPF15.

The user manual

The Lip Balm # 1 applies thinly to the lips. It also poses as a mask before rubbing the mouth with a soft toothbrush for gentle exfoliation. One can even divert it in care for the cuticles or in wax in order to fix some undisciplined hair in a ponytail.
