For those who care about the environment, it is possible to protect themselves from the sun with sun care formulated with ingredients from Organic Farming.

Better formulated and therefore more effective and pleasant to apply than before, they now offer good sun protection.

Organic sun cream: what are the differences with a traditional sunscreen?

Filters : it is the main active ingredient of all sun creams because they are the ones that protect against UVA and UVB .

For traditional sunscreens, the filters are synthetic, they are derived from petrochemicals and, for some, are suspected of being endocrine disruptors.

As for the organic sunscreen, the filters are mineral and therefore natural. These are micro-pigments such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide that reflect the sun's rays on the skin to stop UV rays.

The other ingredients : parabens, perfumes or synthetic preservatives, some of which are suspected of being harmful to health and the environment, are also banned from organic sunscreens.

They also close nourishing and moisturizing ingredients like karanja, jojoba or coconut oils.

In addition, they can not contain nanoparticles , responsible for the pollution of the oceans , of more than 100 nanometers.

Is it as effective?

Yes, like traditional solar products, organic sunscreens must meet the compositional and labeling standards imposed by European cosmetics directives.

They are also subject to ex post facto checks by the French Health Products Safety Agency (Afssaps) to verify that they offer the protection displayed on the labels.

How to choose your organic sunscreen?

Unlike the first organic creams, those of today apply much more easily and leave no effect "white traces".

As for any sunscreen, it is chosen according to its phototype and the intensity of sunshine to which we will expose ourselves. For fair skin, there are even tinted versions, perfect to look good if you have trouble tanning.

And if we want to preserve the marine environment, and more particularly the coral reefs, we opt for an organic sunscreen without any nanoparticles.
