A stylistic expression of the fifties, the Vichy print remains intimately linked in the collective unconscious to the young ladies of technicolor America or, in VOSTFR, to Brigitte Bardot flanking on the bitumen at the tip of her Carmine Repettos. Ultra-feminine therefore, the small bucolic tiles have nevertheless over the years taken an outdated effect not inclined to trends, the latter not fail to give it a label "old France."

However, fashion remains an eternal start, no one was surprised to see the vintage pattern back on the catwalks of the spring-summer 2017 shows, displaying in a day not so girly. Plébiscité by the designers in its version black and white micro-tiles, they are displayed on dresses to tenfold volumes, trousers with hem volantées or on tops Bardot (it again!) A bit shameless. The idea? Explode the juvenile codes of the Vichy to make a second degree print, flirting with the sloppy hype of the last seasons.

Far from the catwalks, we put on simple versions of the Vichy (black / blue and white) taking care to stay away from carmine versions to look like tablecloths. Loose-fitting blouses with oversized sleeves will for example soften a jean mom of a romantic touch just as a falsely worn mini skirt will give character to a simple white t-shirt divinely cut.

Pass the heading of the dress? Yes but provided you have the flattering morphology that any tile print requires and know how to assume it.
