Hot day announced!

If high temperatures are difficult to tolerate during the day, they can be more difficult at night.

Indeed, the body is struggling to regulate heat, and therefore, to organize our sleep phases.

If there is no miracle recipe to join the arms of Morpheus, some tips can still allow us to sleep better.

  • Keep a bottle of water nearby

Yes, it is important to drink in case of strong heat. So leave a bottle of cold water (not ice) near his bed and not in his kitchen or in the fridge. A trick that avoids cutting your night by waking up completely.

  • Light dinner

If it is not so important in winter, except for weight and digestion, when it is hot it is recommended to eat light.

Why ? Because the temperature of our body increases during digestion. So, how fast it is when the thermometer climbs.

  • Forget (a time) the glass of rosé

Like over-rich meals, alcohol increases body temperature.

It is therefore strongly discouraged in case of strong heat. Instead, we opt for a good bottle of water!

  • Take a warm shower

Contrary to popular belief, do not take a cold shower before sleeping. In addition to risking hypothermia, it is not advisable to lower the temperature of your body suddenly before sleeping.

Mainly because our metabolism will try to restore our average temperature as soon as we go to bed.

We prefer a bath or a warm shower and to optimize the "cool" side we do not dry completely.

Once in bed, one can mist the sheets, pillow, face and body with a bomb of thermal water.

  • Go to bed later

When it's hot, it's better to shift your bedtime.

Why ? Because "a shorter and more effective sleep is preferable to a long and divided sleep" explains Dr. Sylvie Royant-Parola, psychiatrist and president of Réseau Morphée, in an interview with "Sciences et Avenir".

We wish you a nice and cool night.
