After a holiday spent in the sun, our hair is not quite top and level color, it can not be said that it has really kept its splendor.

To come back with a color as beautiful as the first day, we follow the rescue plan of Frédéric Mennetrier, expert-colorist and creator of Atelier Blanc *.

  • My blond is denaturing

We like it ash, or polar. Discreet. In contrast to the Californian blond, golden and flamboyant, usually reported vacation.

"If the sun is often the best colorist, you can not control the lightening, those who swear by the cold reflections do not control anything after a fortnight," says Frederic Mennetrier. This statement is valid for blond hair as well as for darker hair with ash, iridescent or icy highlights: in summer, all colors warm up.

The solution: the worst enemy of color is seawater - it promotes oxidation by lifting the scales that leave the field free to UV - we protect it with each bath with a hydrophobic care.

"We know the most effective agents to dam: oils, ceramides, silicones," says Frédéric Mennetrier. These formulas are chosen knowingly. Another essential reflex to preserve its cold reflections: correct the color with a pigmented care to apply after the shampoo. And there, we work to measure: "The more we let him ask, the more it takes, the more the correction is visible," he advises.

  • My color is fading

Blonde, brown or red, difficult to preserve its nuance and reflections earned in the living room. The responsible for this summer phenomenon: sea water, which raises scales. Pigments escape and those that remain are faded by UV. Worse when they have, in addition, deal with chlorinated water. "On artificially colored hair, oxidation is even faster than on natural hair, so their integrity is more quickly threatened," explains Frédéric Mennetrier.

The solution: we do not consider any bathing or tanning without hair protection. Oil, cream or spray version, no matter as long as the treatment has a UV filter. Without special care in the beach bag, one strokes one's hair with the hands impregnated with the remainder of sunscreen used for the body or the face. It works too. Rinse after the pool should be systematic and whenever possible, after each dive into the sea. Every night, it is refurbished with a moisturizing or nourishing shampoo.

"Even fine hair has every interest in turning to a very rich formula from time to time, so they will be better sheathed the next day." Of course, we end with a repairing mask to leave to pose or a care without rinsing, according to his preferences and the state of the fiber.

  • My roots are faster

It's the other side of the coin when you have the chance to go three weeks. "All women notice that their hair grows faster in summer," says Frédéric Mennetrier. Indeed, the sun, through vitamin D, allows the keratin to grow faster and more vigorously.

The solution: we anticipate by planning a meeting last minute at the colorist to enjoy the result at the right time. Two days before leaving, no problem, unless one is adept extreme clarification or scans that sensitize more fiber . They must plan at least three weeks before departure. On the spot, when the roots or the white hair reappear, one adapts.

Brown or dark brown can use a specific kit to accurately recolor the comb applicator areas concerned. Blondes and light browns have every interest to embark in their suitcase a progressive brightening spray that will do the trick to melt the white threads. All can cheat with a colorful spray, effective only in the evening: the pigments deposited on the surface of the hair have no chance to resist sea bathing.
