Regular maintenance at home

To make shine our rings , necklaces, bracelets and other jewels, there is no secret: it must be taken care of. In most jewelery stores , in some stores and obviously on the internet, there are special jewelry cleaners . Physically, they look like our little pots of facial moisturizer . We insert our jewels inside (one to one is better) and we leave to soak a few minutes. They are then rinsed with clear water and finally wiped with a small microfibre polishing cloth. These products usually cost around 10 €.

Inevitable also: the oxidation of gold or silver, a phenomenon quite normal which is in no case synonymous with poor quality. In short, to remedy all these little inconveniences, we spend in jewelry making soak our jewelry in an ultrasonic tank . The ammonia solution on the inside attacks the dirt that tarnishes gold or silver. It is the professional who will decide whether or not to put our jewels the most fragile, those with gems in particular.

The advantage: this service is free in several jewelery stores, including Histoire d'Or, without obligation to purchase. And even if our jewels do not come from their home ...

Polishing in workshop for jewelry like new

Finally, to give a second youth to our jewels, we offer them a small stay in workshop. Jewelery stores all have their own workshop or partners jewelers, jewelers and other professionals in the field who can take our necklaces and bracelets in hand and make them, a few days later, brilliant brilliance. And no more stripe, as on the first day. There, there is no standard fee, it all depends on the work to be done on the jewel, its material and its size. And of course jewelry. Generally, polishing, rhodium (a thin layer of rhodium) or gilding can start from 9 € ...
